To inform year 7 teachers of recent changes to...
This new scheme replaced the old employment-based GTP route from September 2013. Many schools will be offering places on this salaried scheme for shortage subjects at a national or regional level. Current shortage subjects are Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Modern Foreign Languages, Computer Science and English. Trainees will be paid as an unqualified teacher throughout the training and will have responsibility for classes.
Trainees on this scheme are awarded QTS status on completion.
On this scheme you would need to have been in employment for three years before or after gaining your degree to be eligible for the scheme.
You would be employed by one of our The Duston Teaching School Alliance schools for a year.
