I am an experienced Executive Principal and National Leader of Education (NLE) and have been Head of 4 very different challenging schools. The Duston School (TDS) is an Outstanding all-through 3-19 one, and part of The Duston Education Trust. It is also a National Support School deployed to support a number of schools. We have Teaching School Status and a SCITT and with these opportunities we aim to create a hub in the region to enhance pedagogy at all levels aspiring to train the very best teachers.
TDS was the longest failed school back in 2005 having been in an Ofsted category for 7+ years. Now a Flagship School having achieved outstanding in all categories. TDS has achieved Outstanding Ofsted status on the last two Ofsted inspections (in February 2016 and November 2013) which we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead as we strive forward in this brave new world.
In 2001 I was trained by the then DfES to be a Head in difficult circumstances. This opportunity gave me access to some of the most diverse and inspirational people who have shaped my vision and sharpened my focus.
My skills and expertise are varied, my strengths encompass strong interpersonal skills, having a sound strategic overview, the ability to set and meet challenging deadlines and targets and having energy, vision, enthusiasm and drive.
I am an experienced Primary Headteacher and NLE During my last headship, my school performed in the top 5% of the schools in the country for over 10 years, receiving 3 outstanding OFSTED inspections in a row.
As an NLE I have supported many challenging schools across Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes. My most recent support school moved from inadequate to good in just 18 months.
My own teaching has been consistently rated outstanding and I have experience of teaching across the whole primary age range.
I have worked in a leadership capacity in many challenging schools, including schools where English was the second language of the majority of the children.
