What is it?
The National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML) is a new qualification from the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) that provides national recognition for the leadership development and professional achievement of middle leaders.
The NPQML qualification replaces the Middle Leadership Development Programme (MLDP) and forms level 1 of the NCTL leadership curriculum.
Teaching Leaders deliver the NPQML programme on behalf of the NCTL. TLs experience of delivering high quality and impactful middle leadership programmes means that we are able to combine the NCTL training with the best elements from their Fellows and Bespoke programmes to provide a holistic learning experience combining theory, experiential activities, self-review and individual, paired and group reflection. Upon successfully completing the NPQML programme, you will have the opportunity to gain the National College accreditation.
Aims and Outcomes
The aim of the NPQML programme is to support, develop and challenge participants to lead improvements in your school. We ensure each participant has a measurable impact in their school through the use of Teaching Leaders tools which track the outcomes of the programme against:
Improvements in school results
Increased teacher quality
Enhanced leadership and management skills
The NPQML programme is jointly delivered by a TLs facilitator and a trained facilitator from The Duston Teaching School Alliance.
